PSC Groms rip it up in Junior State Surfing Titles Over the last 4 weeks the State Junior Title Rounds have been held at Gunnamatta, Phillip Island and Jan Juc. The PSC juniors did themselves and the club proud with some impressive results. The level of surfing across all junior divisions rises each year and it is great to watch how well the 10 to 16 year olds are surfing Special Mentions: Piper Harrison for wining two of the three rounds and winning the overall state title for the Under 14 Girls. Piper will be off to the Australian Titles later in the year. Piper still has another two years in the division and will hopefully go back to back to back in coming years Joel Wookey for making the final of the Under 16 boys at Phillip Island and placing 5th overall in the division. Joel put in an impressive display of surfing and is a future up an coming star on our coast. Billy Wells and Mitchell Jessop also surfed brilliantly and showed they will be in the mix for next year In the Under 18 boys Jamieson Kingston surfed well with an impressive performance and Phillip Island and is well placed for next year in his second year in Under 18s In the Under 14 boys William Antonie, Rip Everrett and Marlon Harrison all put in some impressive heat performances, particularly at Phillip Island and are well seeded to place higher in this division next year Tabby Vockler in the Under 18 Girls showed she could mix it with the much more experienced girls and looking for big things for Tabby in the future What was most noticeable was the improvement in our kids from the first to the third contest and they all left Phillip Island on the weekend with a belief they can mix it with the best kids from the other coasts We are focusing on bringing training techniques to our coast that the other coasts have been doing for years and we are already seeing results The kids are now looking forward to getting back into the PSC club contests with the Victorian School Event in May to round out competitions pre winter Go Groms!!!!
